I worked on bows all weekend. My victims bow is in the press for a dry fit.

Thanks guys. I can get them looking okay, just can't get the performance out of them I'm looking for. I used less taper in this one. .001 less taper gained me about 15 pounds. I didn't see that happening. I have a little more pre load now so hopefully the speed will come up. When I first drew it I thought it stacked bad.

Travis,  do you use tip wedges?

I did use tip wedges as well as a power lam I guess you’d call it that I built into the riser accents. It’s a narrow bow so there’s very little profile taper. I used a .002 taper in this one.

   Mike

Put a coat of Tung oil on her today, wow that made her pop....

At least 3 more coats to go..

Gotta make a string yet and get a pvc pipe for shipping, I've had 2 bows broken so far shipping in just cardboard boxes.

Then I put the pvc inside a cardboard box cause the folks at the post off don't like those round tubes rolling off the conveyer belt.

Well I was hoping you could do better than .17lb tolerance.

But if it shows up here, I guess I'll haft keep it:)

A few days late on this, my apologies.

One Month Update

Material Acquisition Stage - 2 of 18
Build Stage - 14 of 18
Shipped - 1 of 18

Overall, we are doing great!  78% of us are in various stages of physically building our bows, one shipped and one getting finishing touches.  With three months left in the standard build period, we may be on track to have everyone shipped before the grace period begins.  Outstanding work everyone.

Edit: Clarity

Welllllll...  I got to work on my bow today...  Thought I'd have the riser cut, all the sides sanded and pick out lams and glass for tomorrow's next process...   Ends up that I have to still sand the ramps cause the sun went down...  Bunch of stuff got in the way today...  Hopefully tomorrow will run more smooth...

Very nice Shredd!

I have everything glued on and roughed out. Bunch of hand sanding and it'll be ready for finish that I don't have. Hopefully it'll get here before I'm ready for it.

Nice looking riser Shredd.  What are the woods?

4 point,  that bow is downright pretty!

Warmish day and I was able to do some fine adjustments on the trade bow form.   It cooled off before I could glue the final surface down so tomorrow will have to do.

Thanks Guys...  Looks boring now but I hope the grain pops when I put the finish on it...

Main wood is Sheoak...  Wenge and either paduak or jatoba accents...  Geez I'm starting to sound like Roy...  I think I got Croyona... I was wondering why I kept staring at the Pabst Blue Ribbon in the beer isle...
