The last bloodwood I got was so oily it bogged my drum sander down. 24 grit may have worked

Crooked Stic it will clog up a 49 Nicholson also.

Mike, I've had a bad run lately of woods clogging up my drum sander. I did some research and found a solution that worked pretty good the other day but it's a hassle. If you wipe the wood down good with acetone and let it dry quickly before each pass it won't clog up the sanding drum. I was using 60 grit doing light passes. If anyone else has any tips for dealing with oily woods I'm open to trying them out.

Inside was a beauty of a takedown longbow from Mike Miller aka Crooked Stic.

Thank you Mike! It’s prettier in person than in a picture and feels great in my hand.

About 27 1/2”. I sure look old in that picture. Funny how I don’t feel like it.

Congrats Dave! Stic, awesome job on that one.

An update for my bow. I now have all my materials and will be trying to get the bow laid up this week before I go out of town. I leave Monday and will be gone for the rest of the month. I will still have internet access and will be available as usual should you guys need anything.
