Yew is another wood that has a mind of it's own and will play tricks on you.

I've cut lams off a dry straight 2" x  2" piece of yew and it turned itself into a barber shop pole:)

I heated it and made it straight and as it cooled it turned right back to a twisted piece of wood.

Well. My motor for my edge sander still isn't back from the shop so I'm resorting to plan B...a hickory selfbow. I will work with my recipient on getting a glass bow built later if desired. But here we are roughed out. Plans are to put some reflex in it and heat treat and we will see where we go with it.

If that’s true, then I’m smarter than Einstein... 😜
My bench is covered with tools and crap.

My recurve project is not going well!  At this point it is questionable as to whether I can produce an acceptable bow for the trade.   Order is in to kennym for materials needed for the alternative bow.

Got my riser block all cleaned up and cut to size.  Skiving lams and shaping riser over the next couple days.

Oh, it'll all be good.  I'm working on the plan "B" riser right now and waiting on an order from Kenny.  Been raining for three days but it's looking good for through the weekend.
