That looks a lot like a Sheepeater. Brent Rudolf developed the design, him and Mark Baker made them for several years then farmed production out to Mike Westvang. I made one and sent it to Turkey several years back for the TradGang bow swap. Here is a picture of the one I still have:

They had a version with a recurve style pistol grip too. Rigidity in the tips is key to the Sheepeaters performance, it took Brent several dozen bows before he got it to where he liked it. I had one that sent a 560 grain arrow 188 FPS 48#’s. I always shoot high with those bows.

I have a soft spot for those static tips. I built a few ASL/static bows and they shot pretty good but they didn't improve that much over the more standard ASL design.

No Deflex??? Especially for a shorter bow... Any reasoning behind that?? Or are you staying basically with the Sheepeater design??

Kenny all those 64" one's with the narrow tips were the same limb design

I will start with a .004 forward taper and then try a .002 forward taper

Cool, I look forward to seeing this one come to life. I don't know if I ever want a 50" bow but this seems to me the way to get the most out of fibreglass. How wide are you thinking for the first one?

This was the first bow I saw on the net that made me want one, Bad.
I searched and searched and I found a phone number on the Black Mountain website and called it many times.
On day he answered and we talked for a hour, He told me he was Driving a Semi truck from east coast to west cost every week. He did not have any at that time but had a 56" T/D, So we met across the Mississippi river in West Memphis at the Love's truck stop about a hour from my home and I bought it from him.
Really Nice guy. Here is the Sheepeater

The Sheepeater Indians had Short Sheep Horn bows and hunted Sheep in Montana before we came here a ran them off. I think all I have said is correct, Walt will know?

Love this design, Max! Especially without the pistol grip -- just a plain Ottoman style forward grip. When you get it perfected, let's talk. Especially if, you know, the prototype turns out to be super low draw weight....

The Sheepeaters lived in what is now Yellowstone National Park, mostly late spring through early fall. As the name implies, they hunted and lived using Big Horn sheep as one of their major sources of meat. As previously noted, they were one of the few tribes that used Horn to make a bow.

I do not know much about the Shaman bow. Brent and I talked about a three piece once or twice. I believe he designed one (and didn’t like it) to allow people to travel with it. I could be mistaken, Mike & Jason might have developed it later. I do not remember seeing one in person.
