Talking about your tapers. This on is 56 in. 13 in. riser with .004 forward taper. This one can go 30 in. but they look weird at full draw. For a shorter draw the riser could be longer.

Wow Stic, that's a fine looking bow you got there.

Is that your own design?

48” 46.7#@26” with 8 1/8” brace height. Limbs are straight and tiller came out dead even. Currently 5/8” at the tips and 1 1/2” at the fade outs. Not sure how I feel about it. I think somebody with 24-25” draw length could shoot it comfortably but it’s stacking quickly beyond that. I would like to see a little more reflex curve mid-limb at brace. I went with .003 total taper so any input on what to change is appreciated.

What is the taper rate?

You could go back to the form and put more reflex in it.

Other things to do with the same form would be less taper and/or tip wedges.

Others probably have further suggestions.

Whatever you got it pulled to in the pic you are out of draw. Needs tip wedge for sure.and the deepest part of the deflex further toward the tip. Keeping it a bit stiffer to mid limb.

As it is you have a perfect formula for a small person or kids bow by building with a smaller stack.

Stic is right, the angle between the string and the limb tips has passed 90 deg. So the bow is stacking seriously.

I decided to take some weight off and make it a kids or woman’s bow. Yesterday it was gaining 5 pounds from 26-27”, now it’s gaining 3 pounds per inch over the 25-27” range. I could shoot it at my length but that’s about max.

On 48” and longbow I’m not sure what answer is. Recurves have been made that short but I think finger pinch will be a for sure with a longbow .

Bow looks sweet tho!

Hey Kenny, do you think going with less taper like you did will give me the look I’m after strung? I could shoot this the way it is now at my draw length at 38 pounds comfortably. I’m going to build another one at 52” in the 42 pound range at my length.

I think so, I dropped from .003 to .001 with power lam and tip wedges and it made a lot of difference.

Go down to a 7" to 7 1/4" brace height and try it out...  You may gain an inch or two before stacking and you may get the look you want with reflexed limbs...  Next I would keep most things the same and make the next bow 50" with a 7" brace...  She looks like she is bending good to me although I would like to see a pic at 20" of draw...

To keep the bow that size and you want the limbs to be reflexed at brace you will have to put on a longer string and a shorter brace height or change the angle of your fades....

  Just my opinion...
