Trad bow storage racks?

For storing my trad bows horizontally at home when not in use. I looked around on ebay and most seem to be set up for compound bows and what few they did have intended for trad bows were less than desirable or only set up hold two bows. Guess I'm looking for something substantial or high end. Any one on here know of anyone who does wood working that builds custom trad bow racks? Regards

I had the same dilemma. My father in law, who was not a bowhunter, but was a talented woodworker, made this for me. The hooks are antlers cut from some of my deer harvests. He drilled holes in the antler base and then put screws through the wood and into the antlers. Fairly simple to do and looks great in my man cave/office and it’s a nice way to remember him.

I made a couple of bow racks to hold my longbows horizontal. I took some oak boards 5/4 x 2 and drilled holes in them at 6 or 7” spacing. I drilled with a drill press to ensure they were all perfectly square so a bow wouldn’t be twisting laying across 2 pegs. Very easy.

I just went to yard sales and bought a bunch of gun racks. Some of them look pretty rough, but they work well. Plus, they only cost a couple of bucks each. They don't look as good as these pictured above, but nobody has ever accused me of having an eye for the artistic.

It's really not hard to build your own.
 I made this in the 1980s when I was in the usaf .
 With basic hand tools. Glue and screws. Pine boards from home depot.
 The ceramic plate was made by my wife.
 You can do it.

I tried to post a photo of my bow racks, but my photos were rotated sideways too.  I didn't like that, so I deleted the post, but will re-post if anyone figures out how to correct this.  I tried rotating the original photo on my iPad, thinking that two wrongs might make an upright, but that didn't work either.

This is one that was made by a member that I won in a St Jude’s auction a few years ago.  He painted an image of a deer I shot on it.

This is my favorite.  It was made for me by a friend from cherry wood, and has an inlay of ebony on the top.

Good!  They turned out right side up this time.  I don't know why.  Maybe yesterday was a bad day for posting photos.

I have made several types over the years, and they are easy to make and can look nice.  Initially, I went to a craft store and bought several "plaques"/ "bases" that had a little bit of a pattern and routed edge, stained them and sprayed a finish on.  I had also bought some pegs that have the end bulge and stained and installed them.  It all takes about 2 days if you count in drying time.   I currently have a very nice horizontal rack, which fits the space well and was easy to make.  At Home Depot ( substitute a fancier wood from a lumber yard or specialty lumber yard),I bought a nice piece of maple that had a lot of pattern in it.  I cleaned it up with some sandpaper, softened the edges, cut to length, drilled for my pegs at the desired distance that was customized for the 11 bows now hanging on it of different shapes, and then stained it.  I decided to paint the pegs a complimentary color (spray can) and glued them in.  It all cost a very small amount of money, anyone with a drill, saw, sandpaper, small cans of paint and stain, and a can of spray overcoat can make one, customize it and feel really good about making the rack that you hang your gear on .

I cut some oak dowels, drilled a hole in the back, cut the head off off a toggle bolt and glued it into the back side of the dowel.  Then just poke the toggle through the appropriately-sized hole in the wall and hand-screw it tight.  You want to make sure the diameter of the dowel is bigger than the hole for your toggle bolts.  Cheap and easy and I think it looks pretty good.  You can also custom fit the spacing between the two dowels (to each bow) so the the weight is resting tight up to the riser.
