« on: February 18, 2021, 07:34:40 PM »
I've went threw my stash of bulbs, I have 6 working in the hot box, I need more for later.
I don't want to change my setup.
Where can I get some at a good price?, 5.00 to 7.00 dollars seams high on Amazon?

EDIT sorry 150 w is what I have, 100w or 200w would work

Anyone tried the ceramic heat bulbs?  They supposedly last much longer than regular bulbs.

I recently bought 100 watt bulbs at Ace hardware.  Was like $5.00 for 4 pack

I think Flem uses an electric heater strip of some sort connected to his high tech temperature control.

If you have to buy bulbs, might as well get something made for heat output. Like infrared bulbs, or better yet infrared ceramic heat emitters. The best light heat source I used was halogen puck lights from the Habitat for Humanity store. Four 15watt and two 25watt, would get to 180deg no problem.

I use four 200w in a foam insulated oven with a Bingham inline thermostat.   Cycles perfectly and runs 165 to 170.  I bought extra bulbs but using the last four now.

I'd like to get rid of the oven and go with heat strips but they seem kinda iffy.

I'm wanting to circulate the interior air and might try one of those battery powered fan modules made for RV refrigerators.

A science & surplus store is where I found a 120v fan. Wired it to run all the time for even heat,  let the bulbs cycle with temp control. Can find all kinds of bulbs at the box stores in wisconsin.
