The highly anticipated book.... Silvertip: The Life and Adventures of Paul Schafer, Master Bow Hunter and Bowyer written by Robert Windauer is now available for purchase from the link below.

I am posting this for those that missed it when it was released.  And for the hundreds that have registered since.  This is a must read for any Trad Bowhunter, or any bowhunter for that matter.  I know Paul made many switch to Trad during his journeys.

If you are new to Trad Bowhunting, this book will rev you up!  If you are an established Trad Bowhunter, you will have a deeper appreciation of that our lifestyle is about.

No you can’t!!! Funny thing.... I read incredibly fast. When I got the book I limited myself to so many pages a night. Kept to it. Once finished I read it cover to cover again the following day.  :goldtooth:

My recall is pretty good so reading a book the second time, it has to be a real good book.  Tolkien, Silvertip and Mike Mitten's book fit the bill.

I’m much the same way.... but I enjoyed it that much. He was king of the mountain when I was a teenager ( a long time ago lol) and heard about his hunts and adventures. Now that I’m 51 I thought well this book may just undo what I thought when I was a kid. Nope..... he was a neat guy who was a master hunter.... and beyond that just a good person!!!

I was in my 20's when I learned of Paul.  I can relate to him as i was a wrestler and football player, though no the caliber of Paul, I did wrestle in college.  His hunting adventures always kept me spell bound, as I lived them with him in my mind.

I had the pleasure of at least speaking to him on the phone a few times when i ordered my first custom bow.  He had his tragic accident shortly after i received the bow. I had been a casual Traditional bowhunter before that.  He along with the Wensel brothers really helped to ignite my passion for bowhunting.
