Bearbowman
« on: April 06, 2021, 11:02:47 AM »
I don’t know how many of you know this, but it is with a heavy heart that I report, Steve Smith, better known as Bearbowman has passed away. He had some previous medical issues, but he lost his battle do to the covid.

Steve was well known throughout the country for his traditional archery passion, especially when it came to Papa Bear. He bought and sold a lot of bows, in fact I still have my first 1964 Kodiak that I bought from him. He had a business making strings, and without a doubt he was one of the best. Steve was from “West by God Virginia,” and loved his God and his life to the fullest.

You will be missed my friend, but our loss is heavens gain.
RIP Bearbowman.

I Loved traveling/hunting with Steve. He was hilarious, sometimes without meaning to be. Loyal and brutally honest. He was observant and could read a person like he could see right in their soul. That came in handy many times. So many good times and funny stories we had. He was in awe of Nature. Quick to laugh and had a huge heart. Really, really going to miss him.  I was blessed and honored to have had him as a friend.

My first encounter with Steve came right after I posted an ad wanting a 1964 Kodiak.  Lo and behold, a box showed up at my house in Washington state with a note saying I could check it out and then send him payment later if I wanted it.  What a guy!!! What a loss!!!

May God bless Steve and his family.
