Recently got into making glass bows again. Started the week by making a new gluing form, had some difficulties with previous forms including laminations slipping and wood bending. I want something consistent and strong.

Did a pressure test of the new form and decided to go heavy for the first one. First bow; using 3x bamboo and 1x Hick laminations. Very pleased with the tiller from the get go, still managed to get the profile pretty slim considering the weight.

Overall quite pleased, I'll update this post when the bow is done and shiny.

Next couple are going to be around the 100-130lb mark.

I'm guessing you Brits are not allowed to show up at an archery shoot with a bow under 100lbs

I'm wondering what you guys with those HEAVY bows use for arrow shafting?? I don't think POC would make the cut!

That's pretty important with flatbows especially. I use (for general shooting) 70 gram 1/2" to 3/8" arrows, either poplar, lime, pine or ash. POC isn't up to the weight. Pine is by far the best but it's not traditional.
