So sad to see this news. I considered Dave a friend. He came to hunt with me several times after he made the move to Tennessee. He never got to to take a deer or turkey with me. But we had a good time nonetheless. I was just thinking about him and came here to check to see if he had posted lately. Dave really was something. I’m gonna miss you buddy. Rest easy.

Wow, I didn't even know he was sick.  He was around here from the beginning.  Prayers for the family.

Known him here since TG started and for some reason 2 Corinthians 5:1 comes to mind..."for we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down(we die and leave this earthly body) we will have a house in heaven made for us by GOD himself".....ol Doc just pulled up his tent and pitched on the other side of the mountain.........resting in peace with a blazing campfire ;)

Godspeed sir! You were always a positive force for those that faced adversity (myself included). Prayers for those left behind.

Dave was a welcoming, considerate man who sought the best in and for those around him. One of the backbones of this forum for years, he is walking the streets of gold.

   Well it’s been a year now and for some reason I thought of Doc today and thought like he gave me a nudge to come here to see when he went home and would you believe it’s been 1 year and 2 days..
   Sometimes I feel like God gives me what I call a “God Wink” just to let me know someone I cared for and went home is OK .
   I sure miss you Doc. What a Prayer Warrior you were my friend.

Sure missed him at Baltimore.
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
