Another limb twist ?

Is it a fair assumption that light weight bows are more likely to have limb twist?
So far it's what I have seen...just wondering about others experience.

I would tend agree.  Lighter bows are thinner from back to belly and thus twist easier.  Which would be harder to twist a 2 x 4 or a 2 x 8?  Same amount of material, just laid out different.

Glass...narrow but not overly. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw. Out of 4 that I have made 3 are light weight and they needed much more effort to line up. One just fell into place. Trying to decide if it's related to the weight. Anyway they all shoot fairly well imo. I wish I could try someone else's bow to compare.

That's very interesting cause the reason they ended up lightweight was the amount of taper thickness on the lams. I misunderstood how the taper worked and went too thin...the limb requires very little torque by hand to make it twist...like very very little.

With a glass bow if forward tapers are the same a 55 pound bow will be more stable than a 35 pound bow. That is why some use less taper or even parallels in a light weight recurve. I think it is good to keep the total limb thickness at no less than .0200» where the recurve  starts to curve. That is how it seems to me. I do not know if the same applies to straight limb bows.

Mine are deflex/reflex longbows. 64 inch.
