Well it sure looks like a nice bow. Not sure about the two piece part though, I prefer the intentional type, but to each his own. You got super glue?

Hey I bid on that one too!  I have fixed many bows worse than this and I believe this should go back together perfectly.  I’d mask it off and use a thin epoxy like the West System 105 resin with 206 hardener because it will saturate every little crack and void.  I usually apply the epoxy, wait 30 or so minutes, then re-apply I wouldn’t even waste any time on dowels or pins. The repair should be completely invisible and result in a nice shooter!

That glue joint is a good candidate for reinforcement. Surfacing veil would strengthen it for sure and it would not be noticeable.

Looking forward to the process.   I gave my broken bow a second look and didn't really see a way but maybe following you will flip a switch or two 🤔

I got the bow today, Looks in good shape beside the obvious.
I think I will try avcase West Systems.
what would be wrong with smooth-on, I could use a small water color brush to make sure good contact everywhere and then more on top of that????

You could make EA-40 work, just use a little heat from a gun or blow dryer to warm up the epoxy and the wood to make it flow.

99% of the glue joint is some kind of plastic Bakelite or something

What's the chances if you also put an I-beam in it before glue up?

Or do you want it original?

I think I would find out what exactly that material is before attempting any glue up. You might need to use some Huntsman's Araldite or another speciality adhesive depending on what that material is.
