Just got back, I had a great morning. I am changing and getting my Golden retriever and hoping to go get my bird in a little while. I will tell the story later but I missed one and than nailed another about 20 minutes later. I am a muddy mess. Shawn

I'm back and no bird!! The hit looked good and I thought I would find him but I didn't. I just ordered a string tracker, I had one and was not using it with the shoot thru mesh on my blind. I looked for it and cannot find it, so I ordered another. Story later, stripers now! Shawn

Drew have you been keeping an eye on the carp   :bigsmyl:  Shawn why do you bother with the mesh for turkeys' they don't mind the black hole effect.

Sorry Shawn, that sucks. I lost one three years ago in the fall. Found it the next year, it crawled under a rose bush and died about 70 yards from the shot.

I've been extremely lucky with turkeys again this year. I've spent about 45 minutes actually hunting birds and my son and I have both scored. My son took his during the first 30 minutes of the youth season and I got one opening morning. Worked just like on TV. We get to the edge of the woods elicit a shock gobble, move in and set up, do a few tree yelps, do a fly down cackle, yelp a few more times, the birds strut in, and we make a good shot. My son shot his first bird ever with a shotgun. It was a nice jake. I was fortunate and took a bird with 1" spurs and a 9 3/4" beard.

Curt, I sent you an E-mail. We need to go shoot some carp.  Season opens on the 15th and I've been seeing some hawgs!  Give me a call and we'll go as soon as you can.

Just finished mowing and cleaning up the yard. Long day....worked one lone tom this morning, hung up about 40 yds out, wouldn't come any closer.
This is worse than elk hunting! Tried another spot and 2 hens showed up. I left the woods around 11:30. Tomorrow morning change of plans...
Gonna kill something!   :scared:
