I haven't shot one but Dave Windauer of Schafer Silvertip builds a really nice looking 3 piece longbow with a recurve type riser. I have one of his recurves and it spits arrows out with authority. The riser looks like a slimmed down version of the recurve risers which feel great! Not sure about him making one with G10 though. ??

Also I'm a big time Herb Meland Pronghorn fan.  I have 5 of his bows and one on the way.  He builds a great 3 piece longbow.  The standard grip is not like a recurve but I'm sure he would make any grip you would like.

Wild Horse Creek is a good bow, was talking about them and to some folks.  Had a fellow TGer send me his to try out, said he just needed it back for bear season.  It was lighter poundage than I like but shoot very well.  Mike is a stand up guy as well.

Thanks again for all the input guy’s!

I’m not sure if it’s helped or made it harder to choose a bow though…right now where I’m at is wishing I could order 4-5 different bows and keep the couple I like best!

Thanks gang

Take a look at Robertson Stykbows. The Howler is built for interchangeable limbs meaning you can have hybrid limbs and recurve limbs for the same riser, if you so choose. Aren’t many that have been doing it longer or better than them.

My Tall Tines Stickflinger is 49@28 and I am told it’s pretty quick by others.  Never tested it tho.  I am usually shooting 29” Surewoods with 160 grain  heads and have no complaints, For kicks I tried a couple 1916s, they flew nice and  quick, but they were borderline on spine.

The one on the right obviously.

My current preference for a hybrid T/D longbow is the 3pc Black Hunter.  I've had four, still have two, and one that will depart.  It's cheap, too - $165/shipped.  I like the overall excellent craftsmanship and finish, the bamboo core limbs for super smooth draw out to my 29" (it will go to 31"), it'll take any string material but I prefer to spin up strings with B55, it's got nicely balanced overall mass weight, and the shape of the grip and throat are perfect (for me).  Currently shooting woodies @ 12gpp and carbons @ 10.5gpp.  Sweet.

Timberhawk Odessey is a great 3 piece hybrid!  Great grip and a performer!

Like Rob, I am a fan of the Galaxy Ember/Black Hunter--have two risers and three sets of limbs.  I also have on order a Timberhawk Odessey Hunter.
