Gary Davis passed early this morning
« on: September 23, 2021, 06:53:24 AM »
We got this news from Matt Wirwicki this morning. RIP Gary.
It is with great difficulty and a heavy heart to provide the news that Gary passed away this morning at 1:00.  Gary's contributions to the selfbow community were endless.  Everyone of us here have benefited in some way from Gary's influence and passion for the selfbow.  Since early Spring, he's had a tough and sudden decline.  He's now in a better place.

Sorry to see this.  He was one of the first sights I saw at my first Great Lakes Longbow Invitational in Marshall, MI back in the late 80’s.  I stood there for quite some time as he was showing his audience how to apply sinew backing to a bow.  Rest In Peace sir.

How disheartening....Gary continuously delivered his special gifts of love to us all.

It seems like only yesterday that he and I shared a most memorable lunch at Twin Oaks.

May God be with him and his family.

Gary was one of those special people and especially to the selfbow crowd. I can see him now, standing by his work bench at Twin Oaks with a Dr Pepper in his hand, talking and talking and talking with a bunch of us until the wee hour in the morning. He will surely be missed by many friends, family and selfbow enthusiasts.
See you around the campfire, my friend. RIP

Gary will be missed by all. Prayers to his family.
May his future trail be flat and smooth and the game plentiful.
