Anyone use a Jet Sled?

I am thinking of buying a Jet Sled and wondering if any of you use one. I have a two wheel deer cart that does a good job as long as the ground is dry or frozen, but when the ground is soft it can be a pain hauling a deer out of the creek bottoms. I know that the Jet Sled would do a great job on snow, but we rarely have any snow to speak of until late season. I hunt on the ridge tops for the most part, but as we all know, the deer tend to die down hill and in the thick stuff!;<)

Not sure what a jet sled looks like but my brother has a sled that looks like a plastic bathtub almost. I works well in the wet leaves, okay across plowed fields, outstanding on grass and shallow snow on flat ground.
Pulling a deer uphill stinks regardless.

The Jet Sled is the greatest! I would highly recommend you get one as you can use it on any kind of terrain/weather! You don't have to have snow; it works great on dry ground as well! Awesome tool!

Absolutely.
have a cart and a sled in the truck most of the time. I use the cart most of the time, unless there is snow on the ground, but I transfer the deer to the sled for the ride home. Keeps my pickups nice and clean.

Oh
I would opt for an Otter sled or one of the calf sleds from one of your farm and ranch stores over a Jet sled.
the calf sleds are much heavier plastic and will hold up better.

I've used a sled and it is still hard on dry ground uphill but 100x better than just dragging them. Since I mainly hunt my own property I prefer a quad and a chainsaw 😉 I can get ANYWHERE with those 2.

They work great and you can carry two 2x4 in back of truck to make a ramp. Pull sled up ramp.

Don’t know about dragging one but I’m getting one to pull behind my canoe. I can throw my stand and pack or whatever in it with a life vest strapped to it just in case. I can also float a deer in it on the way out.

Yeah we use them all the time up here. It's way easier than dragging out by an antler when you're all bent over and always trying to get a good grip. It's also nice if you want something mounted it keeps the hide from getting all roughed up.
We use them for duck hunting as well just to float decoys and guns and what not into the swamp with us.

I've used one for the last 2 years and I love it. It's much easier than dragging by antler or rope alone. Also you can strap the deer and the rest of your gear in the sled and pull it all out together. Another added bonus when you get the deer to your vehicle it contains the blood so you have less clean up. You can even leave the jet sled under the deer as it hangs in your garage to catch any drips. I would get one if you are on the fence.

One of the best hunting investments I have made. Hauls out deer , ladder stands in and out . Real back saver . Ice fishing ,even yard work . I have deer cart the Shappel jet sled is much better. I have 54 inch one . Stays right in back of truck whole deer season . I did put new stronger 48 inch plus nylon rope two fender washers with 1/2 rubber hose about 12 inch long that slips over rope for handle . Easier on hands and washers keep rope from pulling through sled . I also use the two by 8 to slid up in truck if by my self . I butcher my own deer so use it to catch all the blood when hanging deer and then just wash out when done . Keeps bed of truck clean too . Great tool .Many other uses too. They sell metal strips you could put on bottom to make last long but I have had mine a while and nothing wore out yet . Otter makes a good one but its much more money but very heavy duty
If you get one PM me I will explain better.

I use one and love it! This may sound crazy, but the rougher the ground, the easier it is to drag! I guess it has to do with the amount of surface area in contact with the ground???
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,

I have used one quite a bit, when I can. A few years ago I lugged about 120lbs of elk 2 miles in one with intermittent snow. I was carrying some of the weight, but the head, hide, and a quarter were in the sled along with some other stuff like a pack. I did recently but a deer sleigh'r recently. Its just a roll of thick plastic that you unroll, lash up, and drag. A lot easier to take into back country than a sled. I haven't used it yet but i am confident in it.

Yes they are as advertised. Great tool for extracting deer. Much better than a deer cart for me.

I've used mine for about five years now and it is great for getting deer out of the woods. Never drag another deer out by rope. Much easier on my back and shoulders.

I have a deer cart, jet sled, and a 66" plastic toboggan. I find the 66" plastic toboggan to be the perfect deer hauler.

I use one to get deer out of the woods because our woods is about half water by rifle season and it is like having them in a boat.

Love mine. I keep it in the back of my truck all season, in it I keep a hang on, a climber, a bunch of sticks, a day pack and another pack with all my saddle hunting gear. Really helps to keep everything organized, and if I kill something I just empty the sled to use it to get the animal out.
