Great morning in the deer woods! I had a rub line going through a white oak bottom I wanted to hunt. I could go through the bottom or go over the top and stay above it and that’s what I decided to do. About 100yds from my spot I bumped a nice buck who smelled exactly like that dominant buck urine you can buy! He was strong. I bumped a smaller buck right before my setup and he smelled the same too. Thought man I won’t see anything. About 830 I see a big deer working his way down an old logging road. I see he’s got a beautiful right side with at least 5 nice tines. I have to watch him go by at about 5-6yds so he could be slightly quartering away. When he cleared and came into a small opening I mouth grunted. He slammed on the brakes and I let loose of my Black Widow PLX at about 10-12yds. He never even heard it. Barebow Tradonly shaft went beautifully in the pocket behind the shoulder. Breaking the off side shoulder. He chugged about 80yds and all was quiet at 833. I just took my biggest buck! I was pleasantly surprised by the Zwickey No Mercy single bevel. Busted the off leg and left an amazing blood trail. Sliced through the heart! What a blessed morning! Fun fact I got the Zwickey’s several(maybe more?) years ago off the St. Jude’s auction. Took my about 30 minutes to get that sucker sharp, but man it did the thing!
