Liberty Bows - Allen Boice has passed
« on: November 02, 2021, 09:36:48 PM »
Such a sad day.

Allen Boice of Liberty Bows has passed away.

Over the years many of us have had such great interactions with Allen, and wonderful adventures with his bows.

I have two of his bows turning up at my office today that he made me just recently.

His last words to me in a message were "onwards and upwards"

One of the bucket list items I always had was to shoot his bows alongside him at the Pope and Young Shoot

Very sad news.

I was lucky to have a few of his bows.

He built very fine bows and was great shot as well.

More importantly he was an honest, trustful and truelly excellant person.

God bless Allen and his Family.

He will be missed

I wanted to talk with him and order a bow. So sad I just watched a pod cast with him.

Allen was such a class act. I’ve shot his longbows for years and most recently sent my original back for a refinish. Such a gentlemen and master craftsman. Sad day.

So sorry to hear this. Allen was a class act and a talented bowyer. I gave my Contender to my oldest son when the draw weight became a little much for me. Such a great bow. Prayers sent for his family.

Well that is the pits.  I just talked with Allen a few weeks ago.
I bought a couple of bows from him, a Classic,  and a Chief.

Once, I put in for an elk tag and I already had a lighter Chief.  I needed a heavier bow for the elk hunt and I talked with Allen about it.  He graciously sent me his own personal 55# takedown so I could use it for the season.

That was the kind of guy he was.  He will surely be missed !
Rest in peace Allen, you are in a far better place now.

The void that comes rushing in like a flood at the sudden loss of a friend brings a flurry of unanswerable questions. Allen and I had exchanged e-mails just days prior regarding prayer for a mutual friends surgery.
Know this one thing about Allen, he was devoted to Jesus who provided his salvation. His passion was that all would come to know the peace of God through Jesus Christ.
Thank you Allen for everything you gave me in this life. Till I see you again at the throne of His grace!

Yes Bob.
Last winter after I went thru a tough stretch with a series of mini-strokes and triple bypass, Allen and I talked about our faith and beliefs.  It was a great conversation and a great comfort to me and then Allen sent me some recordings to listen to while I was convalescing.

I agree with you and with the comments by Snag.  I hate to think I won’t get to talk to Allen again.  One of the really good guys here.

This is very upsetting.  I was introduced to traditional archery with a Liberty Chief in 2009.  It was a gift.  I killed my first traditional deer with that bow, and still treasure it.  That gift changed my life, as I've shot one of Allen's bows everyday throughout this past decade, excluding our trip to Disney World with my daughter, Ava.  I couldn't take my bow in the park; the Judo point made the Chip and Dale chipmunks a little nervous... I tried.  Allen had a terrific sense of humor.  I think he'd appreciate that.

We never met in person, but I certainly feel I've lost a friend.

Sincere regards to his family, Chase

Allen was such an easy person to talk to and deal with on the phone. His bows are smooth and easy to shoot. I wish I could have met him in person. We need more people like Allen in this world........
Thank you for making this world a better place.
