JusPassin, I was prepared... or so I thought to hold off for something bigger. I had passed on two nice mid 130's bucks at 15 yards the first night.. an 8 and a 10. I had a bunch of time to look at them before I passed.
At about 8 am, I looked around hard and saw nothing so I decided to put my coat on.. take off armguard, put on coat... crap, here came a single adult doe on a mission.
I didn't plan on shooting her at that time, but didn't think about a buck being right behind her. When I tried to finish getting ready to shoot, this buck pops up and already in range!
I had to get my cloths right first and he was moving quickly. I judged him without my bino's and dead he was! 30 minutes go by and here comes an 8 point, way outside his ears and following the same trail.. He was a good bit bigger than what I had shot. It didn't matter what he was as I had spent my only tag. He was fun to watch even when he jumped from snuffling the arrow I had shot my buck with.
Very happy with my buck. BigJim
