To many good bows to list.  You should order 1 of each and then sell the ones you dont like!!   :goldtooth:

If you aren't leaning in a particular direction, you're just as well to put names in a hat. Everyone has a favorite and every trad bow has a story.

The Acadian Woods is top notch, and you can't go wrong with a Whisperstik from JD Lund, either. He's a great guy to deal with and a real artist.

Add in Miami Valley. I just got one on a trade and it's a really nice bow. Limbs are bamboo with carbon and it shoots faster than it should at 53#@28. Not sure about contact info for the bowyer, since this was the first time I'd heard of it, but the work is top-notch.

Whispersticks are nice.  You might want to check out Kohannah bows as well, same price range.  I just got a Dryad Orion that I am tuning up and like so far.

Look west and get a Chek-mate; made in British Columbia. You will not find a better bow for the buck.

I'll second Check-Mate had a Deluxe Falcon a few years back a great bow for the money. Their Attila is nice too. It wouldn't hurt to check out Kohannah's 58" and 60" Kurves either. Bob makes a great bow for the buck. His 58"er smokes an arrow. One of the bows I sold and wish I didn't.Also Mark Horne's Mountain Bow.

The Whisperstik option is a strong one.  I actually picked a bow up from him at his house and he is a great guy to talk to and do business with.  It really sounds like you have to get your hands on any and every bow in your price range and try them for yourself.  I made the mistake of buying a Black Widow for my first keeper bow and have not truly liked any other make since.  I havent tried them all either, not even close, not even the ones in the same price range as widows, but you get the idea.  If you try to find a used bow (to keep the price down) from a reputable bowyer (one that gets praised on this site) then you probably cant go wrong.  Try to shoot as many as you can.
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.
