I have bought 3 bows in 2022, all 54". Big Jim Thunderchild, Wing Thunderbird, and RK Korte 59/60 replica.

Scored that one from the original owner on the Stickbow classifieds. Been trying to get my hands on a Korte for a while now and just haven't found what I'm looking for or have been beaten to the punch. Not this time. Bow is simply outstanding from the craftsmanship to the woods and last but not least how it shoots. Was finished in December of this year so it is relatively new. Woods are an incredible piece of Hawaiian Koa for the main riser, Wenge in the I beam, and Macassar Ebony for the veneers. Also has curly bubinga for the overlays on the front. It is actually a hair shorter than my 56" Grizzly from the way I'm measuring and needs a 52" string. It's actually more like 55" IMO but Richard marked it 54" so that's what I'll call it.

54 is what I would call the "sweet spot" for me on a hunting bow. Need to try a Pika and a Shrew still before I decide what I like the best but that Thunderchild is my first choice off the rack for a hunting bow so far.

This is my third attempt at getting along with a Black Widow.  The other two were good bows, but …
the MA was too big
The PCH was too small
The PSA is just right  and good looking to boot.
I’ve always liked the iconic shape of a Black Widow.
What wood is that?

I'm looking at either a Twig Emerald or a Bear Grizzly.

Last years new model. I had to drop draw weight so I bought some lower weight bows. I hope I'm done now, I said that before I bought the Grizzly.

Hi Glen,
Good to hear from you.  The wood is zebrawood in the riser
and Tiger Myrtle veneers on the limbs.

I have a Treadway  Black Swamp "Spook" bow I am waiting on. One of the woods I really love is ambrosia Maple with the worm holes and the figures that look like ghosts. We found the perfect piece that made nice bookmarked veneers with the ghost spooks and 2 worm holes side by side that look like eyes.

After I get that one, I do want one of Kirk's Sasquatch Takedowns with the full bridge back and hidden limb bolts.

Hey Billy…. If you like that full overlay design with blind limb mounts, I do those in my Flatliner long bow design too.    Here’s one I finished not long ago.

Wow Kirk! That is a beauty! What wood is the I Beam? Love that!

Well, I wasn’t planning on a new bow, but I’m the proud new owner of a Blacktail Colombian takedown longbow! 46@29 and 64” long.

Pics of new to me Howatt TD promised.  The disassembled bow.  Strung profile pic.  Limb butts with numbers, there is nothing on the riser.  All three DH Hunter, Howatt TD and Martin MTD.  I don't think Howatt ever sold TD bows, but made then for sale by other vendors.  Think this may have been an earlier prototype with #0030, and the way the one limb is shaved down.

Came to Baltimore hoping to offload some bows, but fell prey to Leon Stewart (again) with my second short Slammer. 56”, 48@28”. No pics yet. It is a sickness!

This is the fourth bow I have purchased from him. Excellent work, square dealer.
