Folks, the Howard Hill Classic has always been a Multi-Round format event.  The first round on Friday could be your highest round, OR, it could be your last round on Sunday.   :archer:

You can improve your score on every round, or not.  Your highest round will be counted for your competition for the HH Classic awards given out on Sunday afternoon.

NOW, your first round and ONLY your first round will be counted to see if you qualify for the Championship Shoot Down on Saturday afternoon.

We'll take the top 15 Men for each division and the top 10 Women for their division for qualification.  Men's Seniors and Super Seniors are combined.   :archer2:

The 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Winners of each division will then shoot ONE ARROW for this year's American Traditional Archer's "TOP SHOT" award.   :clapper:

Folks, the 3D archery season is underway. From the Kalamazoo Expo this past weekend to all the great 3D archery events coming up before the Howard Hill Classic.

I know there ae many all around the country, but here in the South East, here's just a few.

TBOF's Spring Shoot, Tennessee's Pre Spring Arrow Fling, Kentucky Trad Fest, Alabama Society of Traditional Bowmen has a couple coming up, Twin Oaks Classic, Texas Longbow Championship and I'm sure there are others.   :clapper:

Hopefully we can make them all.    :archer2:

For those that have attended the Howard Hill Classic over the years, I started the Championship Shoot Down somewhere around the forth year.

Over the years I've made a few changes, from a plaque on the first one, to giving the Men & Women winners Howard Hill bows from the Howard Hill Archery Co.

A couple of years ago, I started, along with Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, giving cash awards to the Men & Women winners, and at that time the winners were a combination of recurve and longbow competitors.

I have since separated the recurve and longbow shooters for the Men & Women and given them their own Championship Shoot Down, AND, Rhonda started a "Luck of the Draw"shoot down for those that don't qualify for the Championship Shoot Downs.

THIS YEAR, Three Rivers Archery is sponsoring another "Championship Shoot Down" for Seniors & Super Seniors".   :clapper:

Folks, this is a total of SIX SHOOT DOWNS!!   :clapper:   :archer2:

Along with these shoot downs as well as Raffles, I believe the Howard Hill Classic has something for everyone!   :bigsmyl:

Looking forward to seeing everyone here again this year.

Well folks, I have found this year's American Eagle trophy for the American Traditional Archer's "TOP SHOT" award.

I must say it is a beautiful trophy.

When it's ready, I'll certainly post some photos.

Ya know, I've been thinking about this new Shoot Down for the Seniors and Super Seniors. You Longbow & Recurve shooters should be excited because some of the Old Timers have been kicking butt and taking names, LOL.

Kidding aside, there will certainly be some new shooters getting to go for some cash.

And for the men, the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Winners will also be shooting for the "TOP SHOT" award.

NINE shooters will be shooting one arrow for the American Traditional Archer's "TOP SHOT". Should be exciting folks!!!   :clapper:

Folks, just heard from a gentleman who has been in traditional archery for years.  Going back to the Creek Archery days and the Howard Hill World Longbow Championship here in Alabama.

He's planning on being here with ALL SORTS of bows he built (both longbows & recurves), bow forms, arrow shafts, etc.  He says all this has been in a climate controlled environment and is in great condition.

He said he isn't trying to make a killing and make someone extremely happy with these items, he's wanting to clean all his things out before he and his wife sell their home.

If anyone is interested, please PM me and I'll give you his phone number.

Less than THREE MONTHS away folks.

Ya say, wow, that's three months.......don't blink, it'll be here before you know it.

BTW, I haven't forgotten the American Eagle award for the "TOP SHOT" at the Championship Shoot Downs.  They should be delivered sometime by the end of this month.

I'll post a photo as soon as I can.

Went last year and enjoyed it !! This year not going to happen, right now I can’t drive and I’m caring for my wife ! She is still recovering from our motorcycle accident in October of last year. I will miss it 😢

Folks, since I started the "Championship Shoot Down" many years ago, several changes have taken place.

Last year the Men's and Women's Long & Recurves were separated and this year the Men's Seniors and Super Seniors will have their own Shoot Down.

I've given this a lot of thought and feel like the Men's Self Bow should also have their own Championship Shoot Down as well.

I'm talking with a very well know Self Bow maker for next year's sponsorship, but this year, I will sponsor this myself.

As all other winners, there will be $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place winner.

ALRIGHT you self bow shooters, get ready to show your stuff.

Alright folks, here's a photo of one of the American Traditional Archer's "Top Shot" awards.
This photo just shows how large this year's award is.

I'll get a close up with the Name Plate on it shortly.
