Eastman Outfitters Blind Problem

Last August I bought their Carbon Venture Magnum blind, the first time that I set it up, the zipper broke, and when the wind blew, the windows kept falling down, (held up with magnets). I contacted them about the magnets, and they told me to use velcro, no response about the zipper! Last week I set it up for turkey hunting and one of the fiberglass poles shattered, the xipper still doesn't work and the windows still fall down! For a week, I have e-mailed their customer service with no reply. Any ideas?(Other than torching it)

Sorry to hear you're having this trouble.  I hunted in one in Texas earlier this year.  I remember thinking that if I ever bought one, I would look for one with a tad better quality.  I ended up buying a double bull darkhorse.  I have very little patience dealing with companies that don't stand behind their products.  Good luck getting things straightened out.

If you bought it from Cabela's or another reputable dealer, try working with them

Sorry but the old adage you get what you pay for is certainly true.. All of the Double Bull knock offs are of inferior quality. My db's were expensive but I have more then 5 years worth of hunts out of them. In the long run they are certainly worth the extra money

I was just talking to someone about this.  They had great luck with Eastman's CS.  Not the case for me.  I bought mine through a small dealer and after one hunt, a pole broke.  When contacted they said I must buy a new hub assembly (all the poles and the hub).  Not what I wanted to hear but OK.  When the hub showed up, it was the wrong one...the poles were too long.  I finally just cut them down to size but you know the old saying, "Once bitten, twice shy."  I now own a DB and will be getting another one when funds allow.  Good luck.

For the record, I do still hunt out of the Eastman and it hasn't given me any problems since I replaced the hub.  I also kept the old hub so if I needed to replace just a pole, I would have one.  Also, mine is older so it has the zip/velcro windows and they work ok..better than the magnetic windows I guess.

I have an Eastman LS-5 Undercover nad it has worked fine for the last 2 years and this turkey season. Paid about$160 for it.

Thanks for the input, I will be on the phone calling their cust. service dept. this week. The sad thing is that this could be a great blind with a few improvements, very easy to set up and lots of room inside.

I really liked the easton for the money,But now that the cows decided to give it a try I may have different thoughts after trying to replace a couple minor parts.I'll let you know if i find out somthing.After hearing duckn's story I may just replace it.Good luck
