Can alcohol based stain be used under Bohning Blue Clear sealer?

Thanks, Trap

Hey!
We got us a guinea pig!
Thanks, TRAP, for volunteering. There's not enough of it in today's society.

Never done it, but it seems a safe bet.

Surely someone has broken this ground before me.

I've never tried that particular combo...but lacquers usually don't do well over "non-lacquer" friendly products.

Experiment on an old shaft first.

Trap:
Your stain will work just fine under the Bohning clear.

Yes, it works.  I've done it.  However, the first dip of lacquer may loosen the stain a little, i.e., the lacquer that drips off may be a little discolored by the color of your stain.
