My knife story, gift from Chad Holm
« on: February 05, 2022, 02:06:02 PM »
As some of you know I was a real fan of Holm Made bows. I have had as many as 12 at one time. After one bow build Chad sent me knife for being a good customer. He said it was cheap but had good steel !! After I received it I replaced the handle with wood from a blown up Super Diablo! Here is a photo or two, Chad was a super guy, I miss him !!

Nice.

About 6 to 8 years ago I had the pleasure to meet and have a good talk with Chad.
Was a good person and a great bowyer.

Ron, That knife really pops, what a nice memory of Mr. Holm. Hard to fathom that you at one point has 12 of his bows! I have 3 bows, old Wing, Silvertip and a NM Ramer and my wife thinks I have a problem! You would make me look good. You should do a post with picture of your bow collection.

That is a great looking knife Ron!  I had forgotten Chad also made knives.  I still have 4 of his bows.

Ron,
Thanks for sharing and keeping Chad in our thoughts. I think about him often and still can’t believe he is gone. He was such a giving person.. I had a package show up one time from him and it was a dozen wooden arrows and a backpack. I called him immediately to thank him and he was his typical self.. super humble and acted like it was no big deal. He was truly one of the great people in this world in more ways than one. Rest in piece buddy, we all miss you down here.

Chad was a giving person, I met him at different shoots and through mutual friends. At the last shoot I saw him He remembered I shot with para rests and asked me if I needed any, I responded yes and He headed to His truck and came back with a handful. I asked how much and reached for my billfold, He said keep em I just bought out a guy and got a couple hundred. They should last the rest of your life.

Chad was a very honest and talented bowyer, I had him craft many longbows for me and they were of meticulous craftsmanship. I had one of his bows de-laminate and he crafted me a new one in less than a week.

Very nice... Very.

Chad loved Tradgang and was a great Sponsor for years.  We chatted on the phone and two days late he was gone.

God speed Chad .
