Butt Load of Reflex??  Is that a technical term??   :)

Yep -- that's the technically correct Korean term for "more than 6" of reflex"! :biglaugh:

I thought that was a measurement for the amount of  energy expelled trying to get a string on???

Mark, I've seen and shot a few similar bows that James built and I must say they were quite fast. At least it should be pretty stable unlike most Asiatic horn bows that you have to keep tweaking due to heat and humidity.

He showed me at least 6 Glass replicas of horn bows he has made.
He is using a thumb ring to draw.

You will probably need a bracing jig to safely brace a bow like this.

I'm asshamed to say I didn't think James was still in the land of the living.  I've admired his 'glass traditional bow replics for years.  Does he have a website?  Contact information?

My form is good and straight from end to end and the profile is square to the sides.
I used 2 pieces of Ram board (for protecting new floors under construction) from lowes to make the form closer to 1-1/2" wide. Shredd use it too. here is a link

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Ram-Board-Paper-3-ft-x-100-ft-Drop-Cloth/999909879

I have standards (for checking your Micrometers for accuracy ) from when I did Tool and Die work so I use the tools I have on hand.
This is 2 pieces =.750 thick
I push my glass threw these 2 blocks of wood while holding a 0.5mm mechanical pencil at the top of it to get a center line end to end.

I print my limb profile on 11" x 17" paper for all my high reflexed bows.
I cut little triangles so I can see the center line on the tape while I glue the template to the tape with wood glue.
I never have limb twist issues when I do it this way.

I got my lams sanded and the glass ready for glue up. and the stable kore
I drill a 1/4" hole threw the stack and riser and in the form also with a self centering jig, NO  slipping around with the lams.

My glue is old so I need to order some from Kenny
So my glue up will be next week :dunno:

Waiting on Kenny :banghead:

I got my smooth-on epoxy today from Kenny

I brush on some wax, in and around the 1/4" hole in the form to keep the pin from sticking, use a heat gun to melt it.
Then I put some saran wrap over the form

All glued up and in the oven

Definitely an interesting project! So you string the rope over the air hose empty and then inflate?

This is my first time with a topless form and it work really good.
