Looking good Stic! Those veneers have a lot of curl in them.

I am trying a new riser layout with the belly glass passing through the middle. Here was my prototype cutting last night before I break out the nice wood.

Its better at cutting than I am  :biglaugh:

This one is BobsCNC. I'll probably build my next one that I can set up to rough out an entire bow.

The package said those are Australian sycamore. They are true sliced veneer. But remind me of maple when cutting to width. Anyhow Got one limb under pressure.

I took a 9 hour class and had zero cad experience and I do ok. With the easier programs it is relatively easy. I like V Carve Pro.

I could really jack some stuff up with a cnc machine. Me and computers don’t usually get along

Its much easier than you think. If I can figure it out, anyone can. I can't even imagine how some of these bigger bow manufacturers are using these machines...

I haven’t got much done on my swap bow. It’s been too cold and damp in the shop. I do have a couple of risers that I had made for future bows and some tapered core lams.
When I was going through my stash of bamboo slats, I came across a few nice ones that are carbonized. They have really wide spaced nodes. No more than three or four over a six foot length. I’m wondering if they would be good as backings.
Has anyone built a bamboo backed bow using carbonized bamboo?
Dave.
