Asbell's new Northern Ghost
« on: April 04, 2022, 09:12:21 AM »
This would be a really great fall/winter color. I have really enjoyed my Pathfinder over the years and I might have to add this one to my 'wardrobe'. The extra length really makes this product complete.

Has anyone purchased this color scheme and/or got pics of it in the field?  Thanks.

I have found the color in the picture is sometimes not similar to the actual look. Evening Stand Green.  I really like it, but there seems to be more brown in the pattern.

Nice!!!

Yes, monitors vary, and so does dyed wool. You will never get an exact color match.  I love wool and this one really does look great.

Asbell is by far the best wool I've come across.

What kind of temps do you guys use these in? Could never tell if it’s a winter piece or like a good October-November archery outer layer.

Mine is a good cold weather piece (@35).  Under layers to block wind, and for colder weather.  For very cold weather go with blanket weight.

I have one, bought it in this pattern for coyote hunting this past winter. Pretty good camo in snow. I have a dozen or more Asbell wool shirts, vests and snow capes. I love their stuff, something cool about wearing a hand made quality garment in the cool autumn air....just a great throw back.

Looks GREAT Tim !

"IF" you didn't get the wind liner or have one , get yourself  a ultra thin/light weight cycling vest. Around $20 on-line and really up the game of wool in windy condition .   If you hunt where you get a LOT of hard -cold winter winds you might go for the same ultra light weight cycling wear in a jacket. I'm natuarlly hot blooded , so the vest gets it done for me ;)))

They add a great deal of warmth while stopping that cold wind ... Weigh next to nothing , and being so thin they don't add bulk . Which in archery/bowhunting , BULK "isn't" necessarily a good thing ;)

Congrats on the Asbell purchase my friend ....You gonna like it come fall  :clapper:

Thanks Ralph. I’m gonna use it for the start of turkey season to as it’s still cold the first week or two here usually. Specially in morning before day light. Gonna be a fun season. New quiver and pullover :) :archer:

A golf shirt also works wonders for keeping in warmth and keeping out wind.
