bubble with a crack in limb
« on: April 09, 2022, 02:20:11 PM »
Bought some 40lb limbs for my sage two weeks ago.  Was out shooting this morning and noticed what looks to be a little bubble with a crack in it.  Not worried about how it looks, but am concerned if it is the first symptom of a potentially limb failure?  Did not hear any creaking or cracking when shooting the bow.   Thanks for your help.

Who did you buy them from? I would be giving them a call. If it's just in the finish, it may not be worth it for an exchange.

That looks to me like there was something hard between the wood and glass (or carbon if that's what it is) when it was glued up, and it poked through.  How it got missed is beyond me.

Very much so what Mike said it looks like.   Hard to tell the size perspective ....... if it's really tiny and you truly don't care how it looks,  you MIGHT be able to get some CA glue all up in and around it and you MIGHT halt any issue,  but I think it would bother me at the end of the day.  Can you send them back?

It certainly looks like something damaged some of the fibers in that material, what ever it is?
If you had not noticed any flaws before this, then it must have happened before the finish sprayed.
I'm guessing its on the back and if its a unidirectional fiberglass, its probably just getting started.
