I don't shoot footed shafts anymore. Have made a few, but mostly bought them from "The Footed Shaft, who had them made by a fella in Colorado who went by the name of Cedarsmith. Don't know if he's still making them.
A hardwood foot only adds about 2-3% FOC. That's because most of the foot is just a replacement for wood that was already there. You would need to subtract the weight of a similar length of cedar, or whatever shaft wood is used, from the weight of an equal length hardwood footing to get the increased weight the footing actually adds. Usually it's 30-40 grains difference. But, every little bit helps, and they look cool. Of course, they're also stronger behind the head, which is the primary reason for footing wood shafts.
