They are pretty silent and unresponsive so far .

But I did find a P&Y tree...

That’s a 64” bow

Just got back from the Missouri place 15 min ago. My neighbor and his wife both killed birds last week and are getting ready for 2nd season. They are gobbling like crazy last couple days even in the wind. This morning when I was packing to come home there was one a couple hundred yards back of the cabin that would gobble every time I shut the cabin or truck door. I could hear at least 4-5 more back in the woods. Putnam County SE of Unionville.

Yeah, I'm just shakin my head. Guys on lease saw over a hundred one morning in bow season and now it's silent there.

The three best turkey guys I know say they are henned up ,or shut up or something so I'm not alone on this ,at least in this area.

Tomorrow is a brand new day and they may be goin nuts! :biglaugh:

Gob pursuit can be the most frustrating for many.

Gob pursuit can be the most rewarding for many.

Go pursuit may entailn all the above for many.

Gob pursuit…. Gob pursuit… Gob pursuit…

It's been pretty cold and windy up here the past few days and the turkeys haven't been talking much. Finally heard some gobbling this morning and had two toms working in. At about 80 yards they both froze up and then turned and ran the opposite direction. I didn't know why at first but heard a sound to my right and turned just in time to see a big wolf come flying in towards my decoys. He saw me turn my head, slammed on the brakes, stared for a second and then turned and ran back the way he came. Made for an exciting and frustrating morning.

I saw 15 or so birds from the highway. One Tom was struttin’ and all fanned out.

Also saw a black bear eating something the edge of a bare field.

Tuesday's birds gobbled, but they were headed for the neighbor's pasture to strut, and I couldn't turn em.

No gobbles yet this morning...  Tight lipped heathens!!

I’m in SW Nebraska.  Turkey numbers to me seem significantly down.  Any others with similar observations?
