Looking for my "perfect" blind!

So, I'm searching for the perfect pop-up blind.

Since perfect is in the eye of the beholder, I'll explain.

The blind needs to be made of durable,strong fabric, and not that popular see through stuff. Weight is not an issue as this isn't going to be used as a "run & gun" blind. I put it up in a spot I know will see activity throughout the season and it will stay left up for two months or so.

The blind has to have camo colored shoot through mesh windows. Not black mesh, not black open windows.

It needs plenty of tie on spots around the blind to be able to "brush" it in. Not should have, has to have.

Size isn't too critical other than it can not be one of the popular "family" size blinds. I hunt alone and have no need or desire for one of those huge circus tents.

So who makes my "perfect" blind? I'm not finding it!

Only help I got is the old double bull matrix recurve size....before they sold out to primos. Hits your needs, but might look a long time to find one....

It just seems there is a trend by blind builders to make them bigger, and taller, neither of which I find all that useful.  I don't hunt much other than solo, so a huge footprint seems a complete waste.  It just makes it harder to set up and tie down, as well as brush in. 

Then the other idea they seem to be pushing is height.  Well I sure don't plan on standing for 3 hours, I'm going to be sitting, and can shoot just as well that way as any other.  Bottom line is the bigger the blind is the more stress from wind/rain/snow loads making it harder to secure properly as well as conceal.

I just think we'd be so much better off without "marketing".

By the way, that "Hidden Hunter"  looks very interesting, I just think it's a bit pricey.

I have had 2 Hidden Hunter blinds, and hunted out of several more up at ShrewHaven. When you see the quality of one of these blinds, you will wonder how they can sell it so cheaply. 100% top quality.

I have a hidden hunter blind,and really like it. It couldn't be any easier to set up and take down.

I think I read it on here that they aren't being made any more

How many of you use your blind as a shelter from the weather as well as concealment?  The new "see through" material doesn't stop wind or rain, or hold in heat,  so it's benefit is only half there as far as I can see.

I only use one if rain is gonna happen for sure usually.  I prefer a leafy suit but will use a blind for turkeys in rain. One thing about the hidden hunter is yes it’s super fast to set up and take down BUT my only complaint is how it packs up. Wish it was smaller to carry or strap to my chair but the big circle it makes when closed up is a pain to carry around if you wanna run n gun so to speak.

I've had several blinds over the last 20 yrs and no one makes a "perfect" blind in my opinion.

I use a big Mike blind by barronett. It's tall enough for me to shoot any of my longbows in and just big enough for one person to get comfortable in it.. Now saying that, I'm a little bigger than just one person. I set up to where my drawing arm has just a little clearance at full draw and I must start drawing before extending my bow arm to keep the arrow from poking through the front.
If planned out carefully, there is room for another person such as youth, or camera man.. been there but not really enough for both of us to shoot a bow from it.
These blinds work well for me and if you do your homework, you can find them pretty cheap. Not super heavy duty, but I will generally get a few years out of one depending on how often I use them.

Check out Xenek Ground Blinds, they are made in the USA. Of all the blinds I have had it is my favorite and they are great folks to deal with.

But still having some trouble finding blinds that aren't made with the new "full view" fabric, which some must like but I want no part of.

Im with Big Jim.
I wouldnt trade my Big Mike for any other.  Its tall, roomy, has a good pattern and tough as they get.
