I am not a physicist, but an observation made earlier intrigues me. It stated that a matched broadhead/fletching arrow only rotates about 1/2 a turn. It seems to me that the physics say that the resistance of the tissues overcome the rotation of the arrow. Seemingly, mismatched is not as bad a thing as I originally thought. Admittedly, I don't claim to understand all this.

I’m starting to wonder if the word  physics has multiple meanings lol.

And there is clearly some confusion about the whole single bevel subject. With enough arrow weight and bow weight you could probably shoot a field point thru a deer. I don’t understand why it’s that hard to understand? It’s possible to shoot a mismatched single bevel thru a deer or anything else. What some of you cannot understand (other than what physics is) is that when the broadhead stops rotating which it will if mismatched, the benefits of the single bevel do not happen. The bone splitting Ashby wrote of and documented require the rotation.

I’m pretty sure this is a waste of time but see if you can understand. Shooting a mismatched single bevel is the same as shooting a double bevel, the broadhead does not rotate thru the animal.
There are benefits documented tested proven benefits of single bevel broadheads. That’s why it has turned into a fad and some of the prices have got so high. But none of those benefits Ashby proved are happening of the arrow doesn’t rotate.

So if you think that 45$ single bevel on a mismatched arrow is doing anything more than a 5$ Ace broadhead physics ain’t the only thing your confused about.

And I keep hearing “we don’t need single bevels or Ashby’s recommendations to kill deer” lol then why y’all keep buy them and asking questions about them?

not true, the SINGLE BEVEL will rotate when it comes in contact with solid bone or flesh, it does not depend on fletching to rotate it.

              im done, i wont argue!

When I first started hunting with a recurve in 1991, the first 6 deer I ever killed were with Thunderhead 125's.   A non cut on contact head.

Little did I know that such a feat was actually impossible and that I should have been using only certain heads with certain fletching

Hold on.... double bevels WILL and DO rotate through animals. Countless times I've had different entrance and exit angles.  Countless.

Yup.  Slip between ribs going in and cut ribs in two going out.  See like that all the time.

I just don't think it's as critical as some think.   Then again I e bought my last single bevels because I haven't been impressed with their performance.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Lol. You don’t even understand what was said so it’s probably best you don’t try to argue.
