I used to be no pink for me until I fletched some pink arrows up and seen how visible they are in flight for me. I watched the whole flight of my arrow and saw exactly where I hit the buck in my first post.  :archer2:   This year I'll be bowhunting with my 1971 Bear Super Magnum and with the pink fletched arrows I made for it.  :goldtooth:

I switched to pink when my Mom survived her breast cancer.  Back a few years ago i picked up some Ted Nugent GT blems from Big Jim that are pink and black from tip to tip.  Big Jim 4 fletched those for me with flo pink.  Only had one person bust on me about my color choice. I like them.

The guys in my deer camp don't know squat about bowhunting, so their opinion of pink anything is not based on any kind of logic. Still, I don't show up with pink fletch, because I just don't want to put up with their crap. I first started paying attention to pink fletching a number of years ago when I was reading an article in Traditional Bowhunter magazine. One of the pictures was taken from inside a blind at a distance of about 30 yards. The pink fletching showed up in that photo like a beacon.

I switched to hot pink fletching quite a few years ago when I couldn't see my arrows in the target.  Cataract surgery cleared that up but I saw no reason  to change to another color.  I like seeing my fletching in flight and the ease of finding arrows in the grass/leaves.  3x4" pink - no separate cock feather.

Here's a set I made last year. Sitka spruce shafts, pink Krylon spray crown with self nocks(paint with black craft paint), wild turkey feathers and sinew wraps.  :archer2:

pink is harder for me to see in low light,  thats why i stopped fletching that color, i prefer white.  chartreuse is next best in my opinion.

I never do white, cause I bowhunt during whitetail gun season. Don't laugh, I have a friend that got shot.  Luckily he's fine.

I hope to get back to traditional archery this coming season, and I am tempted to switch to pink. I hunt on the ground, no blind; does anyone have experience with using this fletching on the ground? Have you noticed game spotting you more easily?

Best,
Max

I don't think fletching color has an adverse affect on being detected by prey. Movement on the other hand does.

Max,
I hunt everything from the ground and usually wearing a ghillie suit.  I have pink fletching for all game EXCEPT  Turkeys.  For Turkey hunting I use natural turkey fletching because turkeys see color.

100% of my hunting released arrows from 2007 thru 2020 have been from the ground. Have lost approximately a half a dozen hunting arrows since 2007 when taking shots at squirrels, coons and groundhogs at extended distances. The arrow recovery rate is significantly improved when using pink fletch, for me, personally.

I think hot pink and chartreus ( like Stickbenders ) would be good colors for the ALONE TV show.
Already see them losing arrows shooting at rodents and birds. Could be very costly later on.

No doubt pink and chartreuse stick out the best but I just can’t do it. Lol.
