I'm waiting on a new Widow PAX Carbon at 44# and 58".  It should arrive any day now.

I'll hunt with it or a Black Wolf with Uukha limbs Altai limbs.

My broadheads will be either the Iron Wills I bought for moose, Strickland Helix, or another 3-blade that I can't remember the name of.

I'll be using Easton arrows.

It will be one of my Primal Tech bows.  I'm sure the three piece longbow and the two piece longbow will be my primary killers.  The arrows will be either Beaman Centershot shafts or BE Vintage shafts in the 9.5 to 10.5gpp range.  Broadheads will vary but mostly the Carbon Express Piledriver 150s for deer with some other heads thrown in for pigs.
Those will be the set ups I take to Africa for plains game as well.
Beaman Centershot 340s 30.75" long are the majority of what I hunt with.

Arrow Total Weight (grains)497.5
Arrow Specific Weight (GPP)9.7
Front of Center (FOC) %15.9
Arrow Speed (ft/sec)188.9
Arrow Energy (ft-lbs)39.4

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

I will be shooting my JC Optimus and Uukha limbs 62” and approximately 52lbs at my draw. I am hoping to be shooting Douglass firs with Ace Standard 125 grains for a total weight of about 565 to 575 grains. I will also be shooting 2117 or 2216 Eastons with 150 to 175gn Ace Standards. I just put in for secondary draw for elk in Colorado…I think my set up will work there also.

Will likely be a Black Widow Diamond Anniversary Crown Jewel 58"@28" drawing 29.5. It's set up with carbon, but I have lately been thinking about some footed wood arrows for that bow. I also have a '63 Howatt Hi-Speed that I need to hunt with, I bought it because of the killer Brazilian Rosewood but it is a heck of a shooter.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

My hunting set-up will be pretty much the same as many years past, 75lb Blackwidow PLX longbow and wooden shafts. If it's cold, I might take my 65lb'er.

Only thing really any different will be my broadhead choice. For a long time I have run Grizzly Kodiaks with absolutely superb results, but unfortunately they seem to be getting much harder to find, not to mention expensive (for me) when I can locate some too. So this year I'm giving 200 grain Ace Super Express a go. Don't see any reason to doubt that choice one little bit  :goldtooth:

Good luck to you all

Best
Lex
Good hunting to you all.
May the wind be your friend, and may your arrows fly true,
Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

I have a 64" Primal Tech longbow with a set of limbs that is 44# @ 30" and another set of limbs that is 49# at 30". My guess is that I will use the lower poundage limbs, but my mood can change quickly to which one that I want to shoot. I will be shooting the two setups below.

44# limbs
730 - 760 grain (total weight including broadheads) wood arrows. Some with 200 grain grizzly single bevels up front, some with 190 grain meathead single bevels up front.

49# limbs 815 - 855 grain wood arrows (Also the total weight including broadheads) wood arrows. Same as above, some arrows will have 200 grain, single bevel grizzly broadheads, others will have 190 grain meathead, single bevels up front.

I’ll be starting the season off with the two newest to me bows I got recently.  A Kim Sha MattawomanII and a St Patrick Lakes Northern Styk, and both are around 50lbs at my draw length.  Woodies tipped with 3 blade VPAs and W Woodsmens on the business end…

Toelke 58" Whilstler 55#@29"
Black Eagle Vintage 400
Simmons 160 landshark; stock insert with 2" xx75 footers; about 580 TAW
I've been pretty consistent shooting the VPA 3 blades, both the 1-1/8" and the 1'1/4" with great results, but I gotta see what a Simmons will do.
May even try out the 2117s with a big ole Treeshark on it. Flies a little slower than the aforementioned setup since its around 690 grains.

IF my St. Patrick Lakes Pacific Styk shows up in time, I'll be using it with some VPAs glued on to some woodies.

Bemen mfx 400 arrows with homemade 2 blade broadheads for Elk
And woodies tipped with Obsidian and Flint heads I knapped this year for Deer.

Bear "B" mag as per usual. Hoping to be lefty @ 47-50# by September. (Rehab going very well). Or 40# w my teeth otherwise.

It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.
