Got it ready to shoot! If this riser geometry works out, it will be my test riser for limbs and maybe go to my son. Bubbinga with maple and Ipe accents, phenolic limb pad overlays.

Limbs have the Tagua nut carvings and some carbon fiber laminate I wanted to try for overlays.  Can't wait to shoot it. Just has the matte wheel coating finish for right now in case I need to reshape the grip or shelf a bit.
The Bubbinga has really grown on me. 17" riser and 60" over all.

Yea, or maybe  inlay type with engraving, like a Bear Coin....hmm, inlay an arrowhead..

I have inlaid an arrowhead into a longbow I built for a guy over in Indiana. It was pretty cool. It was a special arrowhead that him and his son had found together. It was a small arrowhead only about an inch and a quarter tall 3/4 in wide. JF

All mother-of-pearl comes from the interior of bivalve seashells.  Not all shells create mother-of-pearl.  Abalone is one notable source of MOP -- and they taste good too!

I had some power lams made by a friend of mine years ago with a CNC inlay in the shape of an obsidian arrow head. I can’t find any photos at the moment…. I think I lost those in the photo bucket scam years ago.

I’ll take some new photos for you. If you like them, I could send you a pair. I use mine on my obsidian bow series. Haven’t built one of those in a few years now.

Shot the bow at our fun shoot this weekend and it did very well for me. Had issues with my nock moving and did not take time to retire one on until today on my lunchbreak.  Slowly getting back to strength from not shooting  much in the past couple months,  but this bow is tuning out very well. Will not make another set of limbs exactly like these but will be pretty close!. Performance at my draw weight is very good, but will not let anyone over 30" shoot it.

Debating on deer hunting with it this season.
One of those arrows is 20 yards and followed by 2 at 15. If my cold shots remain this good with this bow, I will call it a success. Sometimes you got to try new things!
