For hunting:
500 spine GT Warrior shaft at 29.5 inches; 100 gr brass insert; 5 gr aluminum carbon collar; 125 gr. woodsman or snuffer; 6 inch wrap; glory nock; 3 4-inch feathers. About 22% FOC. About 500 grains, give or take a little. For 3-D I just use a regular nock and 125 gr field point.

I can also substitute Traditional Only 500 shafts on the above set up.

I am now working on and testing:
400 spine Carbon Tech Cheetah shafts at about 30 inches; 125 gr insert; 190 gr head (single bevel or three blade); the rest is as above.
This combo should be about 550 or so grains with 30% or more FOC. This could be a good hog arrow.

My bow is a 45 pound Centaur Triple Carbon Elite.

GT Hunter 500’s cut to 30 1/2”, with either 100gr inserts or 100 gr broadhead adaptors and 160 Ace Standards with 4” shields. The field points fly like darts getting ready to see which broadhead set up gets chosen for the season now.
Stickbows, Sidelocks and Flyrods, anything to make it more of a challenge!

and my original longbow I used as a kid.

I bare shaft test every new setup I try.  Even though I have tried many different setups on many different bows over the years, I am continually surprised to find out that the setup that works best is not always the combination that I had anticipated would work best.

These are black eagle instincts .500 spine 30.5" with 225 up front shot from an honest 30 yards ( I usually don't shoot this well).  The bow was a Wengerd Chamois longbow 39# -- closer to 37# at my draw.

Hoyt Satori with 50lb. Uukha Vx1000 limbs at 28" draw. My arrow is a 3Rivers Traditional Only 500 shaft. The shaft is cut to 30" with a 130gr. head and 50grain brass insert. Total arrow weight is 470 grains. The Uukha limbs are usually referred to as the super recurve type, I've found this type of limb requires a weaker arrow than one would anticipate. I'm sure this is caused because this type of limb loads up early in the draw cycle and then "relaxes" at the end of the draw cycle. The so called "letoff sensation". I always bareshaft all my setups.

I will be testing out some 500s soon out of my 50# triple carbon Centaur.  Been shooting 400s out of it as of now with 175 grain heads. Standard aluminum adapters.

My Bigriver bows are all around 50lb. at my draw length. I shoot the Widow wannabe Bigriver the most. I shoot beman 500s at 30", 75 grain brass insert and 200gr. points. I have shrunk my feather size to 3" and they fly as good as possible.
