Compressing cedar arrows?

Compressed cedar arrows are long gone. I really miss them.
3Rivers sells a block for doing them.
Has anyone tried this?
How did it work?
It would seem that getting the right temp and keeping it would be an issue

I made my own block works the same. It really didn’t compress them like a sure wood shaft what is does is burnish them makes the a few thousands smaller in diamantér. But it produced areally smooth shaft

What Brent said. It compresses the outside circumference of the shaft, not the entire shaft core. Still, it does reduce the diameter a level, enabling one to obtain a slightly heavier physical weight and spine in a slightly smaller diameter shaft.

Ive used one and it is hard to get the temp right and keep it there I ruined a few shafts and it does compress the wood from 23/64 to 11/32 I tried to go from 23/64 to 11/32 to 5/16 but it didnt work the shafts broke .

Iuse a smooth stone or bottle. It only burnishes them. If you do do it after staining.

I dont believe compressed shafts are completely gone
The new owners are in BC. Contacted me thru here a little and told me of the move and future plans. I will admit i have t heard a peep since but expect theyll be producing at some point in the not too distant future

Dan,
I got emails like that two years ago. If you hear of anything, please keep me in mind.
