I am not wealthy, just an average guy that has always loved to shoot trad and to hunt trad. Even more so, love selfbows etc and like to build them. My Father is an Elder and so I am mostly what is called Native American. I am 65 years old and have been messing with bows of sorts since I was a kid. All though it would cool to go to Africa to take some game, it will never happen for someone like me and besides, my health won't let me. Besides, I got in all of the flying and such in the military and don't care to do it anymore. Horns, I got some nice ones but I have never gone trophy hunting to be trophy hunting. I hunt for the meat, the horns are a bonus but many get turned into knife handles anyways. If there had ever been an animal that I would have traveled to hunt for, it was the Moose up north. But those days are over and so it is pretty much deer, hogs, bear and turkey where I am and I have harvested a few of them. I choose to live where I do in spite of the lower wages and opportunities because this is where I wanted to live and bring my kids up. We still have people that say Sir and Mam here and even kids that respect their elders. I shoot and hunt trad because it is what my ancestors did and I just love to do it. You won't ever see me on a show or even in a video, no desire to do it. I love to get others involved with trad bows but especially the selfbows. I post a few posts mainly for the average person that will never go to these exotic places and for them to see that a lot of what they may experience happens to others. No, I am not a person that anyone knows or will ever do anything special to be known as being special but neither were most of the men that took down Custer and his troops. This world is changing fast, very fast and what so many do and love to do will be soon gone as we know it now. An old Elder once told me that change is permanent, the old ways are soon forgotten. And so I say good luck to you all and may your arrow fly true.
