Obsidian & Agate points

Does anyone hunt with either one of these points? and if so how do they hold up.

The deer in my avatar was killed with an obsidian point. The same point also took a doe later that fall. I still have it and it is in perfect shape.

When it's raw, agate is tougher than algebra on an abacus.  It can be very difficult to work, but sharp.  The problem is, some knappers heat-treat it to very high temps to bring out color and make easier to knap, but it becomes very brittle.  Some of it might be even more fragile than obsidian.  If you're going to make agate heads to hunt with, consider making them with a strong median ridge.

I used this obsidian point on a whitetail. A pass through, and it's still sharp.

Nice looking point, Bondo!  Looks like it's got the perfect cross-section.
