Thumb Ring Questions
« on: August 30, 2022, 09:15:14 PM »
I’ve been intrigued with thumb rings for some time and would like to investigate whether it would be a viable option.

1.  Can you shoot a thumb ring with the arrow on the left side shelf (I’m right handed)?  Shooing both recurves and longbow.

2.  Which would you recommend as the best to start with?

3.  Does the thumb ring create more thumb pressure during draw by holding with the index finger?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Joel Turner has done a lot of shooting with the thumb ring for many years.  This video will answer some of the questions you pose.  If you have other questions, I have found him to be very approachable personally if you call or write him.

Given to how many follow Joel, I'm rather shocked that there isn't anyone making a thumb shooting glove inspired by him. I know I would give it a try.
