arrow spine ???

[Basic Instinct]

So I’m finding it kind of weird I’m shooting a new Bob lee black hawk with the cobra curve limbs 45 pounds at 28 inch draw at my draw the bow is probably 47 pounds and my question is I’m shooting victory VAP arrows With the Valkyrie archery pin system 53 gr outsert with a 200gr point

400 spine shafts are way too weak I have to cut them so short would not be option   so I switched to some 350 spine arrows and started tuning them I cut them all the way down to where the outside is touching the front of the shelf before they start getting close to bare shafting good showing weak spine always I’m just finding it hard to believe that I would have to go to a 300 spine arrow but everything leads me to believe that I need to. The bow is cut past center but I have built strike plate  out to where the point is just barely outside center which seems to help just a pinch but I’m still showing weak arrows just curious if anybody else has noticed the new carbon limb bows take an extremely stiff spine compared to others?

I have a 40# @ 28” Bob Lee Shikari with cobra curve limbs that I draw to 40#. 

I also have three other bows that I regularly shoot for 3D or other tournaments that are within a pound of the Shikari: a Bob Lee Legacy, a Black Widow PSA, and a Hoyt Satori.  The Legacy and the PSA are tuned for 29” GT .600 spine Ultralight shafts with 100 grain points with 12 grain inserts, and the Satori is tuned for a 29” Victory VAP .600 spine shaft with a 110 grain glue-in point.

The Shikari is tuned for a 29” Victory VAP .500 spine shaft with a 120 grain glue-in point.  So your observation is consistent with my own experience: the Shikari requires one spine group stiffer shaft than the other bows of essentially the same draw weight.

It does surprise me that you would require a .300 spine shaft for a 47# bow with about 250 grains up front, and I assume about a 30” arrow, even knowing that the Shikari requires a stiffer shaft in general, but that's the direction your tuning seems to be pointing, and I have no reason to disbelieve your results.
