I met Dave the first time at the Baltimore Classic 3D shoot in 2009 or 2010. Can’t remember which year. I used to attend that shoot regularly in those days. I built a custom bow for him to fit those huge paws he called hands. Lol …. He was having a serious problem finding a bow that fit him well, and we had fun figuring out what the problem was.

I took a bunch of video of him shooting at different angles, and figured out his natural wrist rotation was considerably more pronounced than most. It had to do with shoulder issues, and changing his form was not an option. So I shaped a custom grip to accommodate his natural wrist rotation and raised the shelf a bit higher so he wasn’t getting fletching cuts on his knuckle any more.

I’ll never forget the detailed hand tracing drawing he sent to me with all the hair on the back of his hand and the knuckle cut…. I about lost it, I laughed so hard I was in tears….. I really miss that guy.
