I’m very pleased with the way this turned out for my first try. It was forged from a rotary jack hammer bit. I have access to a number of them as well as small tractor transmission shafts. I don’t know the exact steel it’s made from, but with some digging and luck, the tempering seemed to work out very well, as the blade is very hard and holds a good edge. I know some of you master smiths cringe at my crude way of knife building, but it’s for my own use and recreation.
I’m sure you regulars can tell where my inspiration comes from.
