Bear Montana brace height?
« on: May 09, 2008, 10:26:00 AM »
A little help.  I can't seem to find any place that lists the recommended brace height.  I just bought a used Montana from the classifieds and I've twisted up a new string for it.  I can't even find it on the Bear site!  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks.  I'll start there.  With the string that came with it, it braced around 7" and the few arrows I put through it shot good.  I was just wondering what the recommended range was.

I think Bear recommends a brace of 8 1/2", which is pretty high, IMO. If I recall correctly, the one I had shot well at 7 - 7 1/2".

The 2 montanas I have ( 50 and 55 #s) like 7 to 8 inches. Try to find the quite spot with whatever arrow wheight you are using. when you are happy with it you will know right away. For the money Montanas are hard to beat!!!

Thanks for the help.  It seems to be a nice bow and was just what the seller said it was.  In great condition.  The few arrow I've shot from it hit right where I was aiming so I'm pretty happy with it.  Thaks again.
