I have always used wood arrows and taken a lot of game with them.  They'll work great.

Since diving in 100% trad in 2012, I shot carbon one year and have shot wood all others. I love making them and it’s something my kids can help with the cresting! They are literally one of a kind custom arrows!  Got several kills with them and they just feel right to me.

If you're going into the woods there's nothing better than woods.

Wood arrows have been killing critters for over 10,000 years, no reason they won’t keep killing them.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
