Check out these guys also. I believe this is the largest barebow event in the world. They are competing against some heavy risered target longbows to boot I believe.

Ron La Clair isn't here for poetry so I'll do my best.

Boy oh boy, here comes Roy and he's acting so coy; but he brings no joy like a Christmas toy. He just likes to get Terry all riled up! 😀

I enjoy shooting my Widow PLXS because in my option they are “bulletproof “. Every time I pick one up , it just feels comfortable. I have been shooting them for years .

I've admired the PL and PSR.  Even spoke with BW. They just won't cut the shelf an eighth inch  past center or I'd have one.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Kind of bored on election night so far. Here’s another shot of my black and white ebony PLX.

For those who have a standard limb and a carbon limb what is the difference in your opinion?

I've heard nothing but great things about them, and we all know Black Widow is a GREAT company.  Really enjoying this thread.

Wanted to ask that question to Denny?
Interested… didn’t know if the difference was enough to make me add a carbon PLX to my household.

Here's one answer....

I started shooting the carbon limbs this year and I like them even better. .

Black Widow says the carbon limb longbows are 3-5' a second faster. I got around 8' with my informal (no hooter shooter) testing. Was also using heavier 62" bows to compare.
The mass weight is quite a bit less which may account for the increased limb speed.
I always thought PLs had little hand shock and vibration,  but the carbon seems even less in my experience.
Some folks might not like the look as much as the wood and exotic veneers though. Much to Toby's chagrin, I have rattle canned an exotic PLX a time or two. 😀

Any effect on tuning?

I had to drop 50 grains of point weight to get a perfect tune with the carbon limbs.

Denny, how many grains were you shooting before?

A PLIII was my first trad bow.  I went with the 66" length as Roger told me that it would be  much smoother draw at  my draw length (29).  I cannot be happier with it!
