Penetration issues happen to everyone who shoots enough animals. I have shot animals many times with arrow weights of 650 to 880 out of 65-85 bows. I have on many occasions not gotten a pass through. Arrow flew well, hit was good, but maybe the angle was more extreme and or an alert animal. It happens. BigJim

I guess I should have said he has maximized his set up for penetration.
I’m shooting 49# and my cedar arrows are right around 550 or so. Gives me the best balance between weight and trajectory.
