An Amazing Gift
« on: December 07, 2022, 04:19:13 PM »

I just received a package from Ed Scott's son Justin, in it was a nice letter and Ed's old hatchet that he used to make every bow that he ever made. It is pictured here on an elm chopping block that Ed and I cut just before our first group bow class years ago where we taught guys how to make our style of bows.
If any of you guys ever did a bow class with Ed you will know how he could use this hand ax like a scalpel.
I will use and cherish it the rest of my life.

I've got one of those. It's a hewing hatchet, made for old school log and timber work. And bow shaping too!
In addition to being a special gift, its a great tool. Keep it away from the high speed grinder!
